You never get a second chance to make a first impression. | Will Rogers
I met Gayle at a Tucson networking event. The first impression Gayle made on me was that in a room full of business people, most of whom looked like they'd rather be anywhere else, doing just about anything else, other than meeting other business owners with the aspirational goal of creating mutually beneficial relationships, Gayle was one of the few people who looked like they were actually enjoying themselves. She worked the room like a champ. I could ascertain from afar that Gayle was having more than superficial "getting to know you chit-chat", which most most people will say is the bane of the attendees any large networking event.
I made a b-line for Gayle and was able to introduce myself to her as she was effortlessly wrapping up a conversation and getting ready to move to the next. Since we're both pros at networking, Gayle and I agreed to meet for a one-to-one the next week and I'm happy to report that we've been friends ever since. I can also confirm that my first impression was correct. Gayle is warm, confident and engaging. Fortunately, she can assist with coaching others how to better present themselves to succeed in business and life by making first impressions count.
